Hi,
If the device is reset after updating Plex server, it will lose some settings. Plex server does not have access to internal storage any more and it will prevent samba share turning on even while the menu item is in storage setting. Adding in SMB onto the Shield and being able to access external hard drives should be completely basic in 2016. Seems like a completely arbitrary limiitation. I want to be able to copy/paste files from my PC to external drives connected to a Shield TV. Every media player for the past 7 years has been able to do this.
