A number of Windows 10 update assistant users came across problems and errors while using it. However, there are some simple solutions to fix those errors in no time. Once you resolve these errors, the update assistant will restore its functionality and you will enjoy the auto-update on your Windows device. Here are the things you can try:
Check the system requirements
1.At times, the minimum system requirements are not met by the update you are trying to install through the assistant. And, sometimes, the update assistant might not show the compatibility with your device. Therefore, checking the system requirements prior to installing the updates will help you in avoiding such problems.
2.Disable third-party antivirus, if there is any
Since there is a built-in antivirus in Windows 10 known as Windows Defender, therefore you must not install any other third-party antivirus on your device. This will surely cause an error some or the other time. So, prior to installing an update through Windows 10 update assistant, you must disable the antivirus temporarily.
3.Run the Update Troubleshooter
I.Click on the 'Start' button of your Windows device.
II.Then, open the 'Settings' page and select 'Update & Security'.
III.Select the 'Troubleshoot' option at the left pane.
IV.Next up, select 'Run Windows Update troubleshooter'.
V.Complete the instructions that follow.
4.Unplug the peripherals
In case you have plugged any peripheral devices into your device, it is advised that you detach them immediately in case you are coming across an error while installing the updates.
5.Reinstall the update
In case none of the above-given troubleshooting methods have helped you, you should perform a clean installation of the update by removing all the files from the failed installation.
