TSN Hockey Insiders Bob McKenzie, Pierre LeBrun and Darren Dreger gathered for the latest installment of Insider Trading and the topics discussed were Ilya Bryzgalovs ECHL tryout, Patrick Roys fine and the Sedins twins contract talks. Ilya Bryzgalov in Las Vegas is a reality show waiting to happen. Is it now official? Darren Dreger - Bryzgalov has agreed to attend the training camp of the ECHLs Las Vegas Wranglers. He passed the physical so hes good to go. It doesnt mean a whole lot more than he wants to continue to work out and wait for an opportunity, perhaps for a job to open up in the NHL - which is quit possible. Weve seen NHL players do this in the past; most recently Cody Franson of the Toronto Maple Leafs during his contract stalemate. Bryzgalov has agreed to at least attend training camp in Las Vegas. Is Patrick Roy on the hook for paying his fine? Bob McKenzie - A common practice in the NHL when we hear about a coach being fined $10,000 is that they dont actually cash the cheque. They put it in a security deposit and its basically a good behavior bond. If you dont act up in the next six months or a year, you get the money back. But in this particular case, because Patrick Roy is such a high profile guy and because there was such physical contact with that partition that went down - and almost onto Bruce Boudreau - my understanding is that Roy is actually out of pocket by $10,000. He got a lot of attention from a lot of the coaches in the NHL; Ken Hitchcock saying that was a junior hockey move. One of the coaches I talked to said that if there was a lot of chirping involved - which was alleged but Roy denied - that he would take three steps. No. 1: Send a little note from trainer to trainer telling the guy to calm down. No. 2: Go over to the boards or the bench and tell him to calm down. No. 3: Set up a private meeting at a barn or a ring and settle your differences. Is head coach Peter Laviolette on the hot seat in Philadelphia? Dreger - Winning cures all, but the Flyers did not play well in the preseason and it drags back to the postseason where things did not bode well for the Flyers. Theres a sense of fear of impending doom for some around the organization and without question Laviolette is in trouble. Some believe that if things dont turn around for the Flyers organization and they dont start winning at the 10-15 game mark that Laviolette will be replaced. And you could perhaps look higher up the food chain too, where you find general manager Paul Holmgren and Ron Hextall. Craig Berubes name has been thrown around as a potential replacement, so hes clearly in the system. What happened to Jonathan Drouins expectations in Tampa Bay? Pierre LeBrun - It surprised me and a lot of other people that he was sent back to the juniors, but not if you spoke to some scouts that watched him in preseason. One of the things that I heard from them is that he didnt have a lot of pace in his game in the preseason. He tried to beat players from a stand-still and there was also some questions about his conditioning from an NHL standpoint. But lets remember something. This guy - just two years ago - was playing midget hockey and so this would have been quit a jump for him. Two years ago, another team in Florida - the Panthers with Jonathan Huberdeau - also picked third overall and he was sent back to junior. A year later, he wins the Calder Trophy in the NHL. The same thing could happen to Drouin, so no alarm here. But obviously, he did not have a great camp. Are you surprised the Sedin twins dont have new contracts? McKenzie - Im a little surprised that the season is opening up for the Canucks and the Sedin twins have not been signed to an extension. Thats not to suggest that theres a huge alarm here, but by the same token its not to suggest things are going swimmingly either. I thought the entire training camp would have given agent JP Barry and Canucks general manager Mike Gillis an opportunity to put this thing to bed and the fact that it hasnt happened yet suggests to me that term is very much an issue. The Sedins will be 34 when an extension kicks in and I suspect theyre probably looking for at least a five-year deal and the Canucks want something shorter. I think with them taking hometown discounts on the last deal at $6.01 million, theyre looking way north of that for a pretty big raise. LeBrun - Not nearly as much attention - maybe because of the market he plays in - but theres Joe Thornton, also a high profile UFA at the end of the season. The expectation is that his camp will circle back to the San Jose Sharks in the very near future to start that process. But its not expected to be something thats going to be a distraction for Thornton or whether theres a deadline to this thing. Theyll get it done during the season. Theres early trade talk with Anaheim? Dreger - Anaheim Ducks GM Bob Murray is looking for a defenceman and its believed Toronto, Pittsburgh and maybe Philadelphia are involved. They want a young defenceman and may give up a young forward in return. Joe Looney Jersey .Chanathip Songkrasin opened the scoring in the sixth minute before Kroekrit found the target twice in the 57th and four minutes from fulltime.Vietnam and Malaysia play their second leg on Thursday. Vietnam won the first leg 2-1. Quincy Carter Jersey . Smiths former Atlanta teammates were glad to hang on for an ugly win. Michael Gallup Jersey . Joe Thomas Jersey . The Redskins announced Monday that the quarterback who led the team to the Super Bowl championship in the 1987 season will serve as a personnel executive.MILWAUKEE -- Ryan Zimmermans two-run home run in the 16th inning lifted the Washington Nationals to a 4-2 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday night. Zimmerman hit a 2-0 pitch off Mike Fiers (0-1) over the wall in left field to score Adam LaRoche for the Nationals fourth consecutive win. Tyler Clippard (5-2) pitched a scoreless 15th for the win. Rafael Soriano pitched the 16th for his 18th save. With one out in the 16th, LaRoche hit a sharp single that bounced off the wall in right field. Zimmerman then hit his third home run of the year to give the Nationals the lead in a game that took 5 hours, 22 minutes. The Brewers threatened in the 13th, 14th and 15th innings, but couldnt score. Lyle Overbay was stranded on third base in the 13th when Carlos Gomez hit a soft liner to shortstop to end the inning. In the 14th, Denard Span kept the Nationals alive with a leaping catch at the wall to rob Elian Herrera of an extra-base hit that likely would have scored Khris Davis from first and won the game for Milwaukee. Gomez popped out to end the 15th with Scooter Gennnett on second. Nationals manager Matt Williams intentionally walked Jonathan Lucroy in both the 13th and 15th innings to face Gomez, and the move worked both times to end threats. Washington had a chance to score in the 14th, putting runners on first and second with one out. Fiers got Danny Espinosa, who is 5 for 57 with runnerrs in scoring position, to fly out and Jose Lobaton grounded out to end the inning.dddddddddddd The Nationals were down to their final five outs when Anthony Rendon hit his 12th homer of the year, a solo shot, to right-centre off Will Smith with one out in the eighth to tie the score at 2. Thats when the bullpens took over. Neither team could get a runner in scoring position after Rendons homer until the Brewers fruitless rally in the 13th. The Brewers, who came into the series second in the NL in runs, lost 3-0 on Monday night. Milwaukee starter Yovani Gallardo allowed one run, four hits and two walks with five strikeouts, leaving after throwing 104 pitches in six innings. In his last four starts, he is 2-0 with a 1.00 ERA. Washington starter Jordan Zimmermann pitched six innings, allowing two runs, six hits and two walks while striking out nine. In his last three starts, he is 0-2 with a no-decision despite having a 2.14 ERA in those games. NOTES: Nats OF Bryce Harper (left thumb) went 2 for 3 with a home run and four RBIs in his second rehab start for Potomac against Salem. He fielded one ground ball single while playing centre field. C Wilson Ramos (wrist) also played in the game and went 2 for 5 with two RBIs. . A foul tip from Gomez became lodged in the grill of Lobatons mask in the second inning. Home plate umpire Andy Fletcher had to pull it from the mask. Gomez struck out on the next pitch. ' ' '
